Where do all those sounds on “Instruct the Darkness” come from?

The waveforms in the album directly or indirectly include the following material equipment as their points of origin:

  • The vocal chords of Psiriel (AEIS, TPLR-QBL)
  • The vocal chords of Rawn Clark (TPLR-QBL) (www.abardoncompanion.com)
  • Access Virus TI Snow
  • Ableton Live 7 and its many instruments
  • Native Instruments Massive
  • Arturia Minimoog V
  • Arturia Jupiter 8
  • Novation Bass Station
  • Propellerhead Reason, Roland R-70 Human Rhythm Composer, Roland Dance Module, the synthesized voices of text reader software.
  • Compressors, Delays, Resonators, Limiters, Reverbs, Drum Samples et al!
  • Natural plant life.
  • As a rule, I never sample other people’s music, the only exception so far being Rawn Clark’s IHVH-ADNI chant used in TPLR-QBL.

Also useful was Logic 8, where the final exports were managed and fades processed, however I left the mastering to Steve Smart at Studios 301, Sydney.
